Enjoy the best diving in La Paz and Cabo Pulmo with this part land based and part liveaboard based combination. This particular itinerary is available October - April but can be adapted for other times of year.
Come and explore the beauty of Isla Espiritu Santo by day and night. We will take you out on our comfortable boat to explore sites with sealions, rocky reefs, wrecks and multitudes of marine life. We will have time to dive but also to explore some other areas of the island. Feel the peace and tranquility of a few nights at sea where you get to disconnect from day to day life. Then for the second part of your trip spend some time on land at the remote beach town of Cabo Pulmo. A successful marine park well known for the big schools of jacks and healthy fish population.
Day 1:
Board the boat at 8am, safety briefing and gear setup. Travel out to our first site, keep your eyes open for wildlife especially dolphins as we cruise past the mogote. Our first site is a small sealion colony and reef system. After lunch we will have our second dive on one of the shipwrecks here in around La Paz.
In the afternoon we will travel to our night dive location where we will have the opportunity to try diving with mobula rays. This activity has become much more restricted recently and encounters are not guaranteed but our best chances are between September and April.
Day 2:
Early dive with the sealions at Los Islotes. Experience the wonder of diving with sealions - often playful and curious the sealions of Los Islotes require more than 1 dive to appreciate them to the fullest. There are many different areas to this site so you can have a variety of different dives. The sealions may be the stars of the show but the abundant fish and invertebrate life are worthy characters in their own right. These creatures are so fun and playful that a second dive here is usually requested! Our 3rd dive of the day is at a reef with lots of fish life. We may decide to do the mobula night dive again or move to a different location for our night dive and the opportunity to see mating sea hares!
Day 3:
We will do 2 dives today at a mix of wrecks and reefs before paying a visit to a bird sanctuary on the island and travelling back towards La Paz. Spend the night in front of the Malecon - you may wish to have dinner out in town tonight.
Day 4:
After breakfast on board we we take an adventure to snorkel with the whalesharks. This lasts a few hours before returning to the boat to have some lunch, collect your bags and transfer to Cabo Pulmo. The journey through the mountains is beautiful and allows you to see a different side to Baja. Arrive at your accommodation in Cabo Pulmo and have some time to explore.
Day 5:
Enjoy a morning 2 tank dive trip in Cabo Pulmo Marine reserve. Afternoon free to relax or potentially go on another dive.
